As updates on the impact of the coronavirus continue to be released, we want to take a moment to inform you of the heightened preventative measures we have put in place at Millcreek of Pontotoc Treatment Center to keep our patients, their families, and our employees safe. All efforts are guided by and in adherence to the recommendations distributed by the CDC.

Please note that for the safety of our patients, their families, and our staff, there are certain restrictions in place regarding on-site visitation at Millcreek of Pontotoc Treatment Center.

  • These restrictions have been implemented in compliance with updated corporate and state regulations to further reduce the risks associated with COVID-19.
  • Options for telehealth visitation are continuously evaluated so that our patients can remain connected to their loved ones.
  • Alternate methods of communication for other services may be offered when deemed clinically appropriate.

  • All staff receives ongoing infection prevention and control training.
  • Thorough disinfection and hygiene guidance is provided.
  • Patient care supplies such as masks and hand sanitizer are monitored and utilized.
  • Temperature and symptom screening protocols are in place for all patients and staff.
  • Social distancing strategies have been implemented to ensure that patients and staff maintain proper distance from one another at all times.
  • Cleaning service contracts have been reviewed for additional support.
  • Personal protective equipment items are routinely checked to ensure proper and secure storage.
  • CDC informational posters are on display to provide important reminders on proper infection prevention procedures.

The CDC has provided a list of easy tips that can help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and then immediately dispose of the tissue.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Clean and disinfect objects and surfaces that are frequently touched.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care.

In an effort to provide comprehensive treatment programs to as many children and adolescents as possible, Millcreek of Pontotoc, a behavioral disorders treatment clinic in North Mississippi, is proud to offer our therapeutic group home programs. Offering treatment for youth between the ages of 12 and 20, our treatment clinic has four separate homes, both of which are separated by gender, that can provide housing for up to 10 males and up to 8 females. Children and adolescents who receive treatment in our clinic’s group homes are offered treatment planning that is similar to that offered in our therapeutic day school treatment program, yet designed to be more intensive in nature.

Types of Treatment

Treatments and therapies offered at Millcreek of Pontotoc’s group homes

As part of the treatment programs offered to youth staying in our treatment clinic’s group homes, the following therapeutic programs will be implemented:

  • Individual therapy sessions are held once per week for 30 minutes. Additional sessions can be added on at any time depending on a patient’s needs or when it is specifically requested.
  • Group therapy sessions are held in each of the group homes twice per week.
  • Family therapy sessions are held once per month, but the social workers with whom patients work will typically have weekly contact with patients’ families.
  • Recreational therapy is offered on a daily basis.
School Recommendations

School recommendations for children and adolescents living in Millcreek of Pontotoc’s Group Homes

Children and adolescents who reside in one of our treatment clinic’s group homes are able to attend public school when appropriate, but most patients in this program attend school at one of our Millcreek of Pontotoc therapeutic day school treatment program locations. This ensures that all special education needs will be met, in addition to affording patients the opportunity to work through any emotional or behavioral disturbances.
